The Book of Bennet

 Where are you, Master?

Something has been on my mind that I haven’t been writing about. It has been a week since I have been in contact with Master Bennet.

This is not like Master. On occasion he has done some traveling and so we have had limited contact, but he always lets me know if that’s going to be the case. Besides, he can often make it to email and contact me. But for a week now, nothing. No IM’s, emails, phone calls, nothing.

At first I simply waited. Sometimes a day or two will go by without us having the opportunity to talk. Then I began IMing, then emailing, then calling. Yesterday I called a relative’s house (the only one I have a number for). I just got an answering machine there.

I ask myself, what next? Of course, I will keep calling the relative until I make contact. I am considering what else I can do. It is so unlike Master not to respond or not to make contact somehow. But I will keep trying.

Master, where are you? I am so worried about you.

 Strange thing

Friday night, I was taking my walk as I waited for my son to finish basketball practice. Per Master’s orders, I try to walk for 50 minutes a day. It was a bit cool, but not too bad, so I walked outside. I carried a book, but rather than read I spent the time with my thoughts. It’s nice to just let them wonder where they will.

After about 40 minutes, my legs became shaky. I started to feel light headed. I wasn’t sure I would make 50 minutes. Soon I decided I would be happy if I made it to my van. I decided to cut my walk short and I went in the school to use the restroom. Afterwards, still feeling weak, I went to the van and ate a small package of peanuts, hoping that would help.

Eventually I felt better, but I wonder what caused me to feel so poorly??

 Time (or lack of it!)

I am a very busy person. I realized this morning that I am TOO busy. I often have to be at one job or another early in the morning, so sleeping in is a luxury for me. Today I took full advantage of it. I laid in bed and laid in bed. The dog came and laid beside me. At 9:30 I rolled over and had a nice long stretch.

That’s the point at which I knew I was too busy. When was the last time I had a luxurious stretch? I don’t remember. Usually in the mornings I have to roll over, get my feet on the floor and get moving. I have been jokingly saying that I need a vacation, but maybe it is true. When you don’t have time to stretch, perhaps you are, indeed, too busy.

 BDSM Report Cards

After my recent post about report cards for parents, I began to wonder about report cards for submissives. What would be on such a card? What areas would a slave be graded on?

Here are some ideas, although I would appreciate comments, especially from you, Master.

Attention to Master
Putting Master first
Submission to his will/Obedience to his words
Appearance
Loyalty
Willingness to fulfill Master’s desires

Okay, you did know it was coming, didn’t you? If we are going to grade submissives, then why not Masters? What would the criteria be for a Master, hmmm?

Nurtures slave
Protects slave
Uses slave
Connects with slave
Respects, yet pushes, slaves limits
Personal growth
Encourages slaves growth
State of relationship

The proper use of report cards is to check on progress and to ensure continued growth. This is also the a good idea for a bdsm couple.

Halloween—It ain’t what it used to be!

I remember Halloween, the way it used to be. First, one had to have a costume. Very few people had store bought costumes. We used our imaginations and creativity. Okay, I’m not the most creative person, and I often settled for something easy like hobo. But I would be dressed up and waiting for the right time.

It was traditional in my area to go trick or treating on October 30, also known as Beggar’s Night. I remember sitting in the house, anxiously watching the scene outside. Trick or treating could only be properly done in the dark. The only people who went out before nightfall were small children with their parents. I would usually meet my friend, Laurie around 6:00, and we would hit the streets.

Ours was a small town, and as long as lights were on at the house, it was fair game. Pretty much everyone celebrated Halloween, and we would hit as many houses as we could. We didn’t worry about who lived there, whether or not we knew them. We were on a mission! We would collect candy until we had been to all of the houses, or until we were just too tired to care anymore.

Usually we roamed the streets until about 9:00 or 9:30. We would come home, bags full of candy and feet tired from all of the walking. We made out like bandits and we looked forward to scarfing down on candy until our bellies hurt.

How things have changed! Cities now set hours for trick or treating. Children are told to go only to the houses of people they know, assuming their parents let them go trick or treating at all. For us, safety was limited to “Don’t go to houses with the lights off” and “Don’t eat any candy that isn’t prewrapped unless you know the person who gave it to you.”

Every year I seem to have fewer and fewer little beggars come to my house. Due to concerns over safety, trick or treating seems to be dying out in favor of parties and other organized events. I can’t help but think that kids are missing out. But time marches on, and nothing stays the same, I suppose.
